- Lots. Many general audio compression and (all?) freely redistributable
- speech specific compression packages can be found on:

- One new package is shn114.zip, which is a DOS port of shorten. This
- gives lossless and ADPCM style compression. As it is designed for audio
- it gives better lossless compression than general purpose packages (eg
- gzip), and as it is designed for file compression it can give less
- distortion than ADPCM algorithms which have to work at a fixed
- compression ratio. As I said, the DOS port is new, and I appreciate
- hearing about any problems with it.
